Nurse steps into action, saves child being attacked by dog in Durham
A nurse stepped into action and recently rescued a child from a dangerous dog attack.

Michno said she didn’t think twice about jumping in to save the 11-year-old girl who was walking home from the bus stop when the bull terrier started biting.
Michno said she saw the dog attacking the girl on the curb. As she jumped into action, things turned more violent when the nurse pulled the dog away.
"She was laying down this way and the dog was over here," Michno said. "You can see all the bite marks and bruises on her arms.
"He (the dog) was calm for a few seconds and then he was going after me."
Michno was finally able to throw the dog into a neighbor's van to get it under control. The 11-year-old girl has a few bite marks but she told us off camera she’s going to be all right.
"It was purely a response," Michno said. "Fight or flight, got a handle in the situation. I was the only one around, and I did what I think most people would."
As for the dog that broke free from its chain, neighbors said Durham County Animal Control now has custody of it.
