Durham police probe restaurant robberies

Durham police are investigating three robberies that occurred over the past eight days.

The first robbery was at 6:59 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 13 at the KFC at 511 Horton Road. Three men wearing red bandannas over their faces entered the business and robbed it at gunpoint. They also robbed a customer of her wallet and cell phone.

The robbers are described as African-American, 16 to 18 years old with small builds. They were wearing gray hoodies and may have fled in a green Toyota Camry.

The second robbery was 10:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 18 at the Subway, 3500 North Roxboro Road at the Oxford Commons Shopping Center. A male with a hoodie pulled over his face entered the store, implied that he had a gun and demanded money.

The robber was described as African-American, 20 to 25 years old, 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet tall with a medium build. He wearing the hoodie, blue gloves, jeans and tennis shoes.

Then Tuesday, Aug. 19, two men entered Guerrero’s Meat Market at 2929 North Roxboro Road around 12:30 p.m. and robbed the business at gunpoint. One man had a white T-shirt pulled over his face and the other was wearing a black ski mask.

The men were described as African-American, 18 to 25 years old, 5 feet 6 inches to 5 feet 9 inches tall with small builds.

Anyone with information on these cases is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 683-1200. Crime Stoppers pays cash rewards for information leading to arrests in felony cases and callers never have to identify themselves.
