Raleigh, N.C. — Customers on the municipal water system can begin using sprinklers twice a week, the City Council said Tuesday.
After months of tight water restrictions, Raleigh relaxed its rules last month to allow outdoor irrigation one day a week and the use of a hand-held hose to water on a second day.
Continued rains in recent weeks persuaded city officials to ease restrictions even more, allowing people to water twice a week with automatic systems and sprinklers. People with odd-number addresses can water Tuesdays and Saturdays, while those with even-number addresses can water Wednesdays and Sundays.
Under the new rules, water customers can use a hand-held hose any day.
The Raleigh system supplies water to customers in the city and in Garner, Wake Forest, Rolesville, Knightdale, Wendell and Zebulon.
