Police investigate Garner bank robbery

Suspect in Garner bank robbery (May 15, 2008)

Police asked Thursday for help in identifying two men suspected of robbing a Garner bank.

The men robbed the Sun Trust Bank branch at 118 Small Pine Drive at about 10:40 a.m. and left on foot with an undisclosed amount of money, police said.

Officers and K-9s searched the neighborhood near the bank.

One robber was described as a black man in his late 20s to early 30s, 5 feet, 10 inches to 6 feet tall and 225 pounds. He was wearing a brown jacket and a New York Yankees hat.

The other was described as a black man, 5 feet, 10 inches to 6 feet tall and 210 pounds. He was wearing a dark shirt and sunglasses and had a gold tooth and a goatee.

Anyone with information about the suspects or the robbery is asked to call the Garner Police Department at 919-772-8810.
