Durham, N.C. — Police said a woman washing her car was caught in the cross-fire from a drive-by shooting on Saturday afternoon.
Officers responded to calls about a shooting at 2213 Otis St. at 4:53 p.m. They found a woman who had been shot in the left calf.
The victim, whose name was withheld, was transported to Duke University Hospital. Her injuries were considered to be non-life-threatening.
Officers said they believe the shooting happened when the occupants of one vehicle fired at the occupants of a second vehicle. The victim, a bystander, was outside washing her vehicle when she was shot.
Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 683-1200.
