2 people killed in motorcycle crash

Two people were killed in a motorcycle crash Thursday evening in Johnston County.

It happened just after 8 p.m. at 3309 Jackson King Rd. in Willow Spring.

When a truck attempted to turn left into a driveway, two motorcycles coming from the opposite direction struck the vehicle. Motorcycle driver Jamal "Tommy" El-Ferkh, 24, and passenger Brittany Custer, 18, were killed.

Another driver laid down his motorcycle to avoid hitting the vehicle. Tony Lee Jr., 24, was treated for his injuries at WakeMed and released.

Troopers said they will not decide to file charges against the truck's driver, Curtis Price, 69, or anyone else until the accident has been reconstructed. A team was expected to do that within a week.
