Leesville Road bridge to be replaced

A contractor will begin replacing a bridge on Leesville Road at the Wake-Durham county line on Thursday.

The $1.1 million project was awarded to Mountain Creek Contractors LLC and is expected to be complete in May 2009.

During construction, intermittent lane closures are expected daily, officials said. All lanes will remain open between 5 and 7 p.m.  weekdays, they said.

The project includes realigning a portion of Leesville Road to to lessen the severity of the curves.
