DURHAM, N.C. — The father of a missing Durham woman said Friday it was uncharacteristic of his daughter to leave behind her 5-year-old son and not be in touch.

"Chris is not the type of person not to communicate or call," Rickie Timberlake said Friday.

Christina Nicole Timberlake was last seen Feb. 7 leaving the Red Roof Inn on Guess Road in Durham. Her white Honda Accord (North Carolina license plate WWS-2205) is also missing.

Family members said they suspect her fiancé, Yearl Lyon, 35, might have something to do with her disappearance. He was one of the last people to see her, they said.

Police, however, have said he is not a suspect in her disappearance.

Lyon said the two were going to get married last Friday and that she might not have wanted to get married. He said she could have gone into hiding.

Family members said they were unaware of a wedding or that the two were engaged.

Christinia Timberlake's disappearance isn't the only concern weighing on the family's mind this week.

Rickie Timberlake returned Friday from Walter Reed Hospital in Washington D.C., where his 19-year-old son, a soldier stationed in Iraq, is recovering from brain surgery.

Timberlake is about 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighs approximately 180 pounds.

Anyone with information should contact Durham police at 919-560-4440 or Crime Stoppers at 919-683-1200.
