Fugitive in Dunn Slaying Arrested in Texas
DUNN, N.C. — A man who’s been wanted for 10 years in a Dunn murder was in custody in Texas on Tuesday after Border Patrol agents captured him while he was trying to get out of the country and into Mexico.

Officials said they stopped Young Orellana Bonilla, 34, Monday night in Sarita, Texas. A fingerprint check linked him to warrants in North Carolina, police said.

Bonilla is charged with murder in the 1997 death of Thomas Cabrera in a Dunn apartment.

The State Bureau of Investigation had carried Bonilla on its most-wanted list, and the agency said he also would face kidnapping and sexual assault charges.

“NC Wanted” on Fox 50, WRAZ-TV, featured Bonilla last Saturday.

Bonilla was being held in a jail in Corpus Christi, Texas, to await extradition to North Carolina, officials said.
