Stephanie Bennett Lawsuit Heads To Federal Court

A lawsuit filed by a grieving father in one of Raleigh's unsolved murders has been moved to federal court.

Carmon Bennett is suing the owners and managers of the north Raleigh apartment complex where his daughter, Stephanie Bennett, was murdered two years ago. He claims they failed to protect her.

The plaintiffs asked that the case be moved to federal court since they reside out of state as does Carmon Bennett.

Bennett's attorney has 30 days to appeal the move and try to keep in Wake County Superior Court.
