Fayetteville, N.C. — The Fayetteville Police Department has named Sgt. Steve McIntosh, a Crime Analysis Unit supervisor, as Police Officer of the Year.
McIntosh will be honored at the annual department banquet Friday night.
Other awards to be handed out at the event include the Life Saving Award and Police Heart Award, given to officers who have saved a life or were injured in the line of duty.
Also, two police department scholarships will be awarded to children of Fayetteville officers, and several police department volunteers will receive special Presidential Service Awards.
