It's not often a freshman pitcher has the kind of impact Carlos Rodon has had this season on the mound for North Carolina State University.

The lefty from Holly Springs has been nothing short of dominant.

After 10 collegiate games, Rodon was 6-0, and he had struck out a minimum of one batter per inning and had a stingy 1.38 ERA.

In Saturday's win over Boston College, Rodon pitched eight shutout innings with 10 strikeouts.

His teammates provided the offense for a 9-0 final, pushing Rodon to 7-0 on the season.

In the second game Saturday, the Wolfpack again overpowered Boston College and tied a season-high for runs and hits in the process. Trea Turner went 5 for 5 and Chris Diaz had four hits and four RBIs.

The 16-9 win went to reliever Anthony Tzamtzis.
