Guantanamo Bay is one of the most notorious detention centers in the world. The facility has held terrorists involved in the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks as well as the USS Cole bombing.

On Tuesday, members of the North Carolina National Guard's 514th Military Police Group, were headed to Cuba to help patrol the facility.
