NC A&T dorms evacuated, classes suspended Thursday due to 'weather-related damage'

Posted — UpdatedNorth Carolina A&T is evacuating the dorms and suspending all classes Thursday due to "weather-related damage."
In an email sent to the NC A&T community, the university said there is a problem with the heating systems in several residence halls.
"Weather-related damage requires replacement parts and repair work that cannot be completed before the weekend," The school said on X. "Students who live in affected halls are encouraged to return home, if possible."
Alternative accommodations have been arranged for those who are unable to return home, according to NC A&T. Students can contact their residence hall director for more information.
The university said it will move to exclusively remote instruction on Friday.
