Motorcyclist dies in crash Monday night in Raleigh

According to the Raleigh Police Department, the accident happened around 9:15 p.m. on Brier Creek Pkwy near ACC Blvd. The motorcyclist died from his injuries and a driver from another car involved was transported to the hospital.

RALEIGH, N.C. — Police are investigating a fatal crash involving a motorcycle Monday night in Raleigh.

According to the Raleigh Police Department, the accident happened around 9:15 p.m. on Brier Creek Pkwy near ACC Blvd.

Police say 55-year-old Charles Quinton Kilmon was driving his 2007 Johnny Pag motorcycle on Brier Creek Pkwy. When turning onto ACC Blvd., A woman driving a 2023 Hyundai Ioniq 6 traveling southbound on Brier Creek Pkwy entered the intersection.

A preliminary investigation revealed Kilmon failed to yield the right of way to the driver in the Hyundai, causing the driver to hit Kilmon, ejecting him from his motorcycle.

Kilmon died from his injuries and the Hyundai driver from another car involved was transported to the hospital with minor injuries.

Police said no charges are currently filed and the investigation is ongoing.
