Motorcyclist arrested in Clayton neighborhood was speeding in school zone, deputies say

A motorcyclist was arrested Thursday afternoon in a Clayton neighborhood after a chase with the Wake County Sheriff's Office.

CLAYTON, N.C. — A motorcyclist was arrested Thursday afternoon in a Clayton neighborhood after a chase with Wake County deputies.

Around 3 p.m., a deputy tried to stop a motorcycle speeding in a school zone on Creech Road in Garner, according to the Wake County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies said the motorcyclist did not stop, and deputies chased the motorcycle to Cameron Way, a residential street off U.S. Highway 70 in Clayton, when the rider hit an electrical box in a yard and ran.

Deputies took the rider into custody a short time later, and he was transported to the hospital to be evaluated.

Aaron Vashon Wallace, 23, was charged with felony flee to elude arrest, felony possession of a schedule II controlled substance and aggressive driving, among other charges.
