Children in Morrisville kidnapping recovered safely; suspect remains at large

Morrisville police are looking for a Durham man, who is accused of kidnapping two children Tuesday afternoon.

MORRISVILLE, N.C. — Morrisville police are looking for a Durham man, who is accused of kidnapping two children Tuesday afternoon.

The two children, ages three and four, were found safe less than an hour after they were kidnapped, authorities said.

Police said the susspect, 26-year-old Kalil Juwan Stewart, remains at large.

Morrisville police responded to the call of a carjacking on N.C. Highway 54 and McCrimmon Parkway.

A woman and Stewart, who is her boyfriend, were involved in an altercation around 5 p.m., and the woman was removed from the car, police said.

Stewart fled in the vehicle with the children.

Durham police were involved in a chase with the suspect, which ended at McDougal Terrace, in Durham.

Stewart was previously wanted on domestic related charges, and it is believed he is armed and dangerous.
