Masked men rob business owners at Wake Forest home, police say
Gun-wielding thieves robbed a family Thursday night at their Wake Forest home in a crime that matches a series of violent home invasions across the state in recent years, police said.
Posted — UpdatedPolice said the family returned home around 9 p.m. after closing the store they own in Raleigh. When they got to the house on Falconhurst Drive, three masked men robbed them at gunpoint, taking cash, investigators said.
The suspects were wearing masks and dark clothing, but they are believed to be men. They were last seen running away from the scene.
The armed robbery matched a series of home invasions that have targeted Asian business owners, according to Wake Forest police. Thursday's robbery is the first time it's happened in Wake Forest since 2014.
Police said suspects have watched the business owners to figure out when they closed their stores for the night and when they got home.
Anyone with information about the robbery should call the Wake Forest Police Department at 919-554-6150.
