Man who worked with Durham after-school program charged with sexual assault of a minor, indecent liberties with student
Durham police have charged a man who worked in an after-school program with multiple child sex crimes. Oscar D. Reyes, 20, of Raleigh was arrested on Saturday, Jan. 27.

Police first filed a report on Reyes on Nov. 3, 2023. Reyes worked part-time with Central Park School for Children (CPSC) in Durham and was involved in an after-school program during the 2022-2023 school year.
Reyes, 20, has been charged with:
- Indecent liberties with a student
- Sexual battery
- Assault on a child under 12
- Misdemeanor child abuse
A letter was sent to CPSC families as the news circulated.
"The employee in question was removed from campus pending the completion of the Durham police investigation," said executive director Arlie Harris. "That investigation is now complete, and we now understand that the employee has been arrested and charged in connection with these events. His employment has been terminated."
The school said Reyes was terminated when leaders learned about the allegations in November.
Reyes was booked in the Wake County Jail on a $10,000 secured bond.
