Man hospitalized after crashing into tree on NC 147 in Durham
Shortly after 2 a.m., officers responded to a crash on the N.C. 147 southbound exit ramp to Swift Avenue. When officers arrived, they found a 2005 Chevy Silverado that had run off the road, hitting a tree head-on.

A man is fighting for his life after crashing head-on into a tree on N.C. Highway 147 in Durham Wednesday morning.
Shortly after 2 a.m., officers responded to a crash on the N.C. 147 southbound exit ramp to Swift Avenue. When officers arrived, they found a 2005 Chevy Silverado that had run off the road, hitting a tree head-on.
The man who was driving was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The crash remains under investigation, and no charges have been filed at this time.
