Man arrested in connection to deadly Saturday nightclub shooting, Raleigh police say

Two people are seriously injured after an early-morning shooting at a nightclub on Millbrook Road on Saturday.

RALEIGH, N.C. — On Monday, Raleigh police arrested a man they say killed one man and injured another at a Raleigh night club early Saturday morning.

Raleigh police say they responded to a shooting at the Checkmate Lounge and Night Club around 4 a.m.

Two people were found with serious injuries. One of the men died from his injuries and the other remains hospitalized.

Johnson, 29, is charged with murder and felony assault in connection to a deadly shooting at a Raleigh nightclub early Saturday morning.

Police arrested 29-year-old Jamal Johnson and charged him with murder and assaulte inflicting serious bodily injury.

According to police, the investigation is ongoing.
