Man arrested, 2-year-old found safe in kidnapping case in Robeson County

LUMBERTON, N.C. — An Amber Alert for a missing 2-year-old boy was canceled shortly after it was issued Sunday morning.

The Robeson County Sheriff's Office said Tacoma Kegan Hunt, 2, has been found safe.

The victim was believed to be with Earl Frederick Locklear, 36. Before he was found safe, Tacoma was last seen at 272 Creek Run Drive in Maxton in a Black 2020 Jeep Cherokee Latitude with NC plates (KLH-2066).

Locklear was arrested after a short foot pursuit by officers in the area of Wild Plum Road in Maxton shortly after the Amber Alert was broadcast.

Locklear faces several charges that include:

  • Second-degree kidnapping
  • Felonious restraint
  • Abduction of a child
  • Larceny of a motor vehicle
  • Resisting a public officer
  • Injury to personal property

He is in custody without a bond and has a court date set for Monday.
