Man, 46, shot and killed in Granville County

The Granville County Sheriff's Office is investigating after a man was shot and killed.

OXFORD, N.C. — The Granville County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after a man was shot and killed.

Around 11 p.m. on Thursday, deputies responded to 3020 Tar River Road.

Christopher Chapman, 46, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The shooting is under investigation by the Granville County Sheriff’s Office and State Bureau of Investigation.

The sheriff's office said there is no danger to the public.
