Major intersection on NC-42 reopens after being closed several hours for railroad repairs
A major intersection in Clayton reopened Tuesday afternoon after being closed for a few hours.

CLAYTON, N.C. — A major intersection in Clayton reopened Tuesday afternoon after being closed for a few hours.
Starting at 11:30 a.m., Norfolk Southern closed the railroad tracks at U.S. Highway 70 Business and N.C. 42 East near the Sheetz gas station.
The entire intersection was originally expected to be closed for 8 hours, but reopened after around 3 hours.
Police were on the scene to help direct traffic.
