RALEIGH, N.C. — In the mood to try something different? These local gems were your picks for best international restaurant in WRAL's 2017 Voters Choice Awards.

Taverna Agora

Taverna Agora is known as the place for authentic Greek cuisine in the Triangle. The restaurant features brunch, lunch and dinner and has a rooftop patio.

Bida Manda

Owners say Bida Manda is home to the only Laotian cuisine in downtown Raleigh and is one of the first Laotian restaurants in the county. Sanskrit for father and mother, siblings Vansana and Vanvisa Nolintha say they named the restaurant Bida Manda as a way of honoring their parents in Laos.
The special menu had an appetizer of Bida Manda's Crispy Rice Lettuce Wraps with Pork.
The special menu included a white wine spritzer with a fresh cucumber.

Neomonde

Neomonde is much more than a restaurant -- it's also a bakery and market. The business was founded almost 40 years ago by four brothers who came to America from the mountainous region of northern Lebanon. Family recipes are still used today to serve customers hot meals and authentic desserts.

Brewery Bhavana

Come to Brewery Bhavana for the environment, stay for the fantastic food and beer. This one-of-a-kind brewery, flower shop, library, bookstore and dim sum restaurant features 40 beers on tap, a full menu of Chinese appetizers and entrees (from dumplings to peking duck) and a beautiful meeting space.

Sitti

Sitti comes from downtown Raleigh developer Greg Hatem's vision of opening a restaurant honoring his Lebanese heritage. He teamed up with the Saleh family, the owners of Neomonde, to open Sitti, a tribute to the grandmothers, or sittis, who were the caretakers of Lebanese culture, faith and food.
