It is with much Pomp & Circumstance that we announce our first ever WRAL.com Pet of the Year.

This inaugural honor goes to Shelby Mauchmar, a miniature Beagle who was crowned the Pet of the Week last July.

Shelby will receive a $150 Gift Certificate to the very upscale, Wag Pet Boutique compliments of owner, Pam Guthrie.

We hope Shelby will take pampering to new heights and bask in the glow of her well-deserved win.
