Cool temps to usher in first day of spring, but 70s on the way
Tuesday morning started with temperatures in the 30s throughout central North Carolina. They'll climb to the mid-50s for the day's high, although this time of year usually has highs in the 60s.

Wednesday, the first day of spring, will feature similar temperatures with highs in the upper 50s and lows in the 40s.
Clouds will move in Wednesday morning. Areas in the southeast, including Jacksonville and Wilmington, could see some showers Wednesday evening. Spring officially begins 5:58 p.m. Wednesday.
That rain will move toward the Triangle on Thursday, but temperatures will be warmer, with highs in the low 60s.
Friday will be clearer and warmer, with temperatures in the low 60s, and Saturday and Sunday look beautiful, with highs in the low 70s and plenty of sunshine.
