Charlotte Hornets guard LaMelo Ball will miss the remainder of the 2023-24 season with an ankle injury, the team announced Thursday.

Ball, 22, is continuing his rehab from his right ankle injury.

Ball hasn't played since Jan. 27.

In the 2023-24 season, Ball averaged a career-high 23.9 points per game. He played in 22 games this season.

Ball is under contract through the 2028-29 season.

In the past two seasons, Ball's ankle injuries have limited him to 58 games.

The Hornets (18-54) are missing the playoffs for the eighth straight season.
