Juvenile arrested, charged with murder of Raleigh man

Around 10:35 p.m., Raleigh police officers responded to the 3500 block of Cumberland Creek Road. Officers found a man with "serious gunshot wounds."

RALEIGH, N.C. — Raleigh police charged a juvenile in connection to a homicide on Cumberland Creek Road in January in Raleigh.

Around 10:35 p.m. on Jan. 7, Raleigh police officers responded to the 3500 block of Cumberland Creek Road. Officers found a man with "serious gunshot wounds."

Two suspects were reported to have left the scene in a vehicle.

Police arrested one of the suspects, a juvenile, and charged them with murder on Wednesday, Jan. 17.

Raleigh police said Luis Gerardo Guzman-Perez died in the Jan. 7 shooting. He was 18.

This is an active investigation.
