ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. — A Walmart in Rocky Mount was evacuated as a precaution on Friday afternoon after a bomb threat on Bevenue Road.

A viewer told WRAL News that Walmart employees were standing outside the store and a fire truck was on the scene.

Police have identified the suspect as Delton Davis, 46, of Rocky Mount.

They say he was a disgruntled customer who was banned from the premises two months ago.

Davis called the business, got into an argument with an employee, and said, "I will blow the place up," according to police.

Davis did not come onto the property. Police searched the property twice to ensure it was clear.

Davis was charged with communicating threats. He received a written promise and was released.
