I-40 west reopens after crash near Harrison Avenue

The westbound lanes of I-40 have reopened after a crash that led to some major backups early Saturday morning.

CARY, N.C. — The westbound lanes of I-40 have reopened after a crash that led to some major backups early Saturday morning.

The crash happened just off Reedy Creek Road near Exit 287 at Harrison Avenue just before 4 a.m.

Heavy traffic could be seen building behind crash, which closed all lanes of traffic.

A heavy presence of first responders were on the scene, including Cary police.

The lanes were allowed to reopen around 5:30 a.m.

WRAL News is working to learn more about the crash and whether or not anyone was hurt.
