RALEIGH, N.C. — After some overnight storms, Monday will be partly cloudy but dry with just a small chance for storms and rain by the evening.

According to WRAL meteorologist Elizabeth Gardner, the morning will be mostly cloudy, but sunshine will emerge in the afternoon.

Some showers and storms could develop my dinnertime, but most that form will be south and east of the Triangle.

Thanks to clouds, the day won't be too hot, with highs in the mid to upper 80s. According to Gardner, it will be less humid as drier air moved into the area.

The rest of the week will be typical for summer, with highs in the low 90s each day and a slight chance for afternoon storms.

An elevated chance for storms could return by next weekend, said Gardner, but the work week should be relatively uneventful.
