Hope Mills officer fired after 'incident' at police department, SBI investigating

The town of Hope Mills confirmed that Maj. Bradley Rountree was placed on administrative leave after an incident at the Town of Hope Mills Police Department on Dec. 12.

HOPE MILLS, N.C. — A Hope Mills police officer was fired after an incident within the police department.

The town confirmed that Maj. Bradley Rountree was placed on administrative leave after an incident at the Town of Hope Mills Police Department on Dec. 12.

Rountree was terminated on Jan. 4.

The SBI investigation is ongoing.

No further details were released by the town.
