I think you handled the situation rather well, including the old busybody. You handle her much better than I would have because I would have made it my mission to embarrass her right back into the hole from whence she crawled (I actually did that once when my eldest was almost 4 - the woman could not leave the store fast enough). My hat is off to you, dude!
