I recently graduated from UNC with my Masters. I gotta say, the ceremony wasn't all that great. I think I should have skipped the ceremony and gone to the BVI's with some friends on a sailboat.
Unlike my classmates, I'll be sticking around the area because of my wonderful boyfriend. I didn't get a "real" job, but I will be staying UNC for one more year (hoping for longer).
I'm always busy doing something. I play in 3 volleyball leagues during the week and tournaments on the weekends. I also play slowpitch in one league with my boyfriend and I am a faithful fan/bleacher coach for his league two nights a week. We both coach for Special Olympics of Orange County and LOVE IT.

Dang sure is a small world. Most everybody I know from Iowa came from the eastern part of the state. What a great place to grow up. I'm just always amazed when I go back to see how the lawns are so neat. I love the backyard gardens, too.
But I have to say I'm glad I don't live there now. It's a nice visit.

Last night's story was just too much for me, also. In the past two weeks, I've lost a lot of history in my hometown as well as other places that I lived. There is a swinging bridge that I crossed every day for 7 years to get to school. The flood just washed it right down the river.
I know that my family is safe, but I just feel so helpless because I can't go help.
