have you noticed?

There seems to be a dramatic increase in the amount of 'gay' content in the news.  The pregnant man.  Prop 8 in Cali.

A year ago, how often was homosexuality in the news?  Exactly.

Look at TV shows.  Nearly every single adult-targeted television show I've come across has at least one token homosexual.  Usually, two.  That token character used to be 'colored'.  (Do you think the great late Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was homophobic?  Peace and equality for ALL brothers and sisters.  Also 'colored' refers to all non-caucasians, including myself.)

This year seems to have been a year of progression in the GLBT community.  It seems things are beginning to take a turn for the better.  It seems America might actually be the 'home of the free' soon.  That's just one of the reasons I put on that uniform.

One can only imagine.  What with racism still an issue, and even gender equality, what will throwing in sexuality do with moving America to a more diverse and hopefully tolerant place to live?

I know one thing.  I'm tired of seeing all the hate messages.  Yea, sure, these people are exercising their right to free speach, and by all means they should continue to do so.  I'm just saddened by the amount of ignorance that still permiates through our society.

I mean really, you'd think that by the beginning of the 21st century mankind would have evolved past "Hmm you differant, me no like!  SMASH!"  I mean really people.  What in the world is the big deal?  So what if you neighbors are a couple of guys.  That's good!  Ask for their advice when you go to redecorate the living room!  (Had to insert a stereotypical joke in there somewhere, I know, I'm bad.)

Speak your minds, post on this blog what you think and feel about the projection of alternate lifestyles into the mainstream media!  Just expect to be blasted with extreme prejudice if you post anything negative.  ;)

tiredofgovtwaste: Just a return on Rebel's post. Try reading from the beginning. I actually agree with you. Peace, love, and harmony was his message.

UNCG4Heels: They don't go around plastering recruitment posters. My blog was asking what GOLO thinks about how the media keeps bringing it up, and you general stance on their lives. On that note, how is it sick?

NorthWakeDad: Good comment. Only except he has no book deal, no movie to promote. It's all about awareness of the Transgender community. But I do agree, it's kind of tactless to put pictures like that on People magazine. Middle America isn't ready for that yet.

tmedlin: You're right. That was stupid on his part.

OldRebel: Lol, you're probably right. But nobody's perfect.

ChargerNut: How is that perverse? What's wrong with being differant?

...attempt to make perversion mainstream in America! sick....

"OldRebel. I'm not even going to speak about the hypcroticy (sic) of the Christian faith. Oops!" LOL Red Bear...No it'd probably be well to leave it alone since the homosexual community seems to have it's own closetful (lol, no pun intended) of hypocrisy.

Ditto Nope.

"Never did he teach hate"

No, but the men who claim to speak for him certainly do.

TMedlin...That's exactly why I am sick of hearinf about them.

TMedlin, I agree. Christianity based businesses/organizations have to change their standards for others. But are the others (such as gay rights organizations) supposed to change their standards for anyone? Not a chance. Real equality, there.

read this, this morning "So, this is “progress?” eHarmony, a Christian-targeted dating website, gets sued by a gay man demanding that the business match him up with a same-sex partner. The New Jersey Attorney General intervenes on behalf of the gay plaintiff and forces eHarmony to change its entire business model. To be clear: The company never refused to do business with anyone. Their great “sin” was not providing a specialized service that litigious gay people demanded they provide. This case is akin to a meat-eater suing a vegetarian restaurant for not offering him a ribeye or a female patient suing a vasectomy doctor for not providing her hysterectomy services. Sadly, eHarmony has settled ." THIS, I have a problem with.

The extreme positions on both sides of these issues irritate the carp out of me (that doesn't include your blog post, Red). I'm a married straight guy with plenty of gay relatives and I think they should be able to get married too. I think the "pregnant man" is a silly narcissist looking to sell her book. Sorry for your confusion, but I don't want it in my face while I'm eating dinner. I think if gay people want to serve in the military and identify themselves as gay people, we ought to let them. The Israelis have one of the best militaries in the world and they don't seem to have a problem with openly gay solidiers. I think some gay activists miss their own point - its great to have a parade or protest to support your cause, but bro nobody wants to look at you on the street in a thong. I mostly wish people - from bible thumpers to act up'ers - would just concentrate on living their lives and not play these extreme and stereotyped roles they get put in. .02 charged.

Sick of hearing about their sick lifestlye. Wish they'd keep it to themselves.
