god bless america
Published Nov. 5, 2008Okay, so we've all agreed to disagree during this campaign. We have a winner now. We have our answering machines back, we have our commercials back, we have our 'inboxes" back, and we have our snail mail boxes back.
It's over now. Can't we all just get along? We're not a country of libs vs cons, Reps vs. Dems, good vs evil...we are Americans with a voice; with the priviledge of exercising that voice.
As an idealist, I ask, please, can't we mend our fences and go forward as a united nation....(Maybe one nation under God? <obviously not my term, but a really good one...>)
United we stand, y'all.....

That last emotional outburst wore me out.
Little does that anymore except, well...never mind.
Good night.
God bless.

I lost more friends than I know even now because I can't bring myself to visit that d4mn wall. I can't even stand to see a picture or painting of the d4mn thing. I'm not sure I ever will.
Sorry!
God bless.

I have absolutely no issue with jbunny being concerned; I would expect for her to be as his wife. What I DO take issue with is her statement that her and her husband's vote for the Obamination was specifically to end the war so that her husband could come home. That is elevating self-interest well above any consideration for national security, public policy, or the duty he voluntarily elected to serve.
And no, I did not serve. I was too young for Vietnam and even so was rejected because of bad allergies. I was rejected on 12 September 2001 because of my age. Had they accepted me, though, I would have willingly and with honor served my country in any capacity they wanted me to without grumbling, grousing, or remorse.
