federal medical takeover
Published Oct. 16, 2008would people in the health care profession please tell me what those in your business think about the Obama plan of the federal government taking over the US health care system?
I just don't understand how a health care worker could vote for a takeover of their present and future livelihood given the track record the federal government has.
Just something I've always wondered about.

(11) overdevelopment (12) a barrage of disasters over the last decade (from 9/11 to hurricanes, to fires, to floods, etc).
not so dumb...i agree that was kind of a dumb comment to make on my part. i think the rationale is that deregulation (primarily repeal of the glass steagall act) actually helped cause much of the problem. however, at the same time, it helped prevent the problem from spiralling out of control in the short term by facilitating consolidation of the deposit banking and and investment banking industries as firms neared collapse. in the long run, however, this consolidation will probably prove troublesome.

lol. You keep saying that, but somehow you can't seem to back it up.
Oh, well. Better luck next time."
oldschool...the basic factors underlying our problem today:
(1) a continuation of the collapse of the internet bubble (2) too much emphasis put into "universal homeownership" by members of both parties. (3) failure to properly regulate lenders of all sorts, including mortgage co.s, credit card co.s, and gse's. (4) failure to regulate derivatives markets (5) rising oil prices (6) sinking dollar value (7) global political uncertainty (8) greenspan's "irrational exuberance" concept (9) rapid deleveraging in global financial markets (10) panic
as well as several other reasons. too many people like to take a simplistic view of everything by only pointing to one cause. however, the situation today is due to a complex web of issues.
