it would seem mccain was right...

Published Jul. 3, 2008

Senator Barak Obama (D-III). on Thursday backed off his firm promise to withdraw combat forces from Iraq immediately, and instead said he could “refine” his plan after his trip to Baghdad later this month.

Earlier, a top Obama adviser had said that the senator is not “wedded” to a specific timeline.

Obama told reporters in Fargo, N.D., that he is “going to do a thorough assessment."

My favorite thing about this article is that it implies that he didn't ever actually think about Iraq, other then voicing the popular opinion.

Good thing McCain challenged him to actually go there.

"it would seem mccain was right...About the Iraq issue" -cleopatra

Just because Obama is shifting his position towards McCain doesn't make McCain's stance "right". That's like arguing that a person who jumps off a bridge with 1 other person is "right" simply because they had company...

cont... even if they are good ideas! It's ridiculous!

What I read on his website months ago was that he wanted to pull the troops that are there for battle out and leave (for a while) the troops that are there to help support the efforts of the Iraq gov/troops etc getting their own handle on things. I think the fact that he's fine tuning his thoughts on this as he learns more is a good thing. And don't forget, McCain once said he didn't have a problem if our fighting troops stayed there for 100 years. I think they both have their main platforms they stand on, and then they both are trying to get ellected, this is politics, so they are both in sales right now. I'm not gonna hold on to every little thing that comes out. I'm gonna average it out in the end and vote for the one who's primary ideas and goals are in sync with what I would want. Which right now is most definitely Barak Obama. But as we know, partisan(sp?) politics will prevent either one from achieving what they'd like to. Each side fights the ideas of the other.

About what?

deerslayer, I'm afraid we won't get a "do-over" for 4 more years...

NO!!! it continues to seem that I am right..both are losers and we need to just start this thing over.......

There is so much "need to know" that he doesn't know, he ain't got a clue what he can or will do.

I just can't figure out which one I don't like the least so that I can vote for them ....
