children keep our life interesting
Published Jul. 3, 2008My 20-year-old son went to Myrtle Beach a couple of weeks ago. He called me while he was there and said, "Guess where I am at and guess what I am going to do?"
He proceeds to tell me that he is in a limo. My first thought was, oh gosh, he has met some girl and is going to marry her. Well, I was wrong.
He tells me he is going to get his nipples pierced.
I will let that sink in for a minute . . .
Well, despite my discourgement, he goes through with it. You have to realize that he takes some type of martial arts training and was supposed to go to the state games the following week to wrestle, so it is just not that I am against piercing your nipples, it really is not a good idea for him with this kind of training.
It is amazing the responsibility that comes with this. They take a long time to heal, and you have to do this daily soaking regimen.
I think he is getting tired of them. I can hope, anyways. LOL
On the bright side, he didn't get married to some girl he just met.

I hear that. My daughter wanted EITHER a snake or a tatoo when she was 14. 7 years later, I finally got rid of the snake...LOL

Yikes, bad idea. Anything that can't be hidden by average articles of clothing is a hindrance at job seeking time.

Sometimes realizing a mistake on one's own is a good enough lesson in and of itself without having to worry about an ax being held to the neck.
