swindle letter from a us marine supposedly
Published Jun. 20, 2008I received this email from someone pretending to be a US Marine. It seems the crooks may have gotten a little smarter with this one since some people might actually fall for it since it appears a marine sent it. It usually comes as an email from someone in Nigeria. Anyway, be careful if you do receive the below email.

contact you. I am presently in Iraq and I found your contact particulars
in an address journal. I am seeking your assistance to evacuate the sum of
$2,500,000:00 (Two million Five Hundred Thousand United States Dollars) to
the States or any safe country, as far as I can be assured that it will be

This wording is always immediately suspicious to me. We don't usually speak like this in the USA.
Delete, delete, delete, etc., etc. Never, ever open it.

this i do know how to do, and i also use a junk email address when responding, never the one that they initially sent the email to. this actually helps to redirect the scam mail out of my main accounts.
