golo of the past...what happened??

OPINIONS PLEASE!!!! 

I remember when I first joined Golo on July 10,2007. I didn't participate much at that time...just comments on news stories once in a while. Later, I became a little more comfortable. My first "real" conversation was with Strolling Bones. I don't remember exactly what started it, but it had something to do with religion. She was all over me. We went at it. Feisty jumped to my rescue. Now we're friends. That's how I got started. I have a never-ending list of friends on here. I have been taking a break...with the exception of posting "friendly" blogs. I still love Golo and all of my friends. I try to be a nice person and I think that I succeed at that. What amazes the hello out of me is how some can be friends one day and then...BAM!  The ugly rises to the top! I don't mind controversy...everyone is entitled to their own opinion. What I'm talking about is the direct personal attacks...the mob mentality. Why is this happening? Can anyone tell me? There are some that you never hear from unless there is a "cyber-fight".

I think Angela and her team do a great job at controlling this site. Or at least trying to. Some think she doesn't. Well...if You don't like it...Leave!  You are not forced to be here. But don't leave because others are mean and nasty. Just stay away from them. That's what I do. I read some of the blogs and posts, but I choose to keep my distance.  If I feel one of my "friends" are being attacked, I go to their profile and support them. But not on the blog...it just stirs more stuff. Have you ever noticed that the "cyber-fight" or racism blogs have endless comments and the though-provoking and friendly ones have very few? And the comments on each are from the same people?

None of us are promised tomorrow.  Have you ever thought about how you would feel if one of your "friends" or even an "enemy" were to never return? Well...that's how I live my life...as if there is no tomorrow. I don't want anyone to ever think I am a bad or mean person. I don't get my joy from that.  I may have a different opinion thatn you, but I don't resort to personal attacks. LYMI!!!!!! 

I've had one of those days
you know what I mean
so I sit back and relax
and turn on my screen.

I'll talk to all my friends
who know just what to say
to make my stresses go
and my troubles fade away.

My friends you're always there for me
whenever I feel blue
and though we've never met before
I know our friendships true.

And although we haven't been friends for long
in this short time it seems
we shared so many things already
our hopes, our fears, our dreams.

We come from different walks of life
but we share a common bond
and it's time to say that of all of you
I've grown so very fond.

So thank you friends for being there
whenever I've needed you
I know you're always there for me
and you know I'm there for you.
