prison vs. work

Published Mar. 20, 2008

Just in case you ever get these two environments mixed up,

This should make things a little bit clearer.

  @ PRISON

you spend the majority of your time in a 10X10 cell

  @ WORK

you spend the majority of your time in a 6X6 cubicle/office

@ PRISON

you get three meals a day fully paid for

@ WORK

you get a break for one meal and you have to pay for it

    @ PRISON

you get time off for good behavior

@ WORK

you get more work for good behavior

@ PRISON

the guard locks and unlocks all the doors for you

  @ WORK

you must often carry a security card and open all the doors for yourself

@ PRISON

you can watch TV and play games

@ WORK

you could get fired for watching TV and playing games

@ PRISON

you get your own toilet

@ WORK

you have to share the toilet with some people who pee on the seat

@ PRISON

they allow your family and friends to visit

@ WORK

you aren't even supposed to speak to your family

@ PRISON

all expenses are paid by the taxpayers with no work required

@ WORK

you get to pay all your expenses to go to work, and they deduct taxes from your salary to pay for prisoners

@ PRISON

you spend most of your life inside bars wanting to get out

@ WORK

you spend most of your time wanting to get out and go inside bars

  @ PRISON

you must deal with sadistic wardens

  @ WORK

they are called managers

THERE IS SOMETHING SERIOUSLY WRONG WITH THIS PICTURE!!!!

Now get back to work. You're not getting paid to read GOLO .

Prison - you watch whatever the majority rules on TV. Usually BET, COPS, or whatever game is on you don't care about. And the guard has the remote and usually turns it off for one reason or another when your team is 6 points behind, has the ball on the 6 yard line and it's 3rd and goal, with 16 seconds on the clock and no time outs.

Work - You earn a paycheck, buy a TV, and go home and watch whatever you want to, and maybe your wife will let you have the remote and bring you a drink.

Prison - you stand in line in the chow hall with people you don't like, and eat what is usually some pretty awful food.

Work - You cash your paycheck and choose your own food.

Prison - IF you have a couple of dollars, you pay outrageous prices for instant coffee and hope you can find some hot water.

Work - You buy yourself your favorite coffee, and make it just the way you like it - you can put it in a thermos and take it to work with you.

I prefer work, myself. Think about it.

Bear says that prison and work are the exact same thing in his book. ;-)

LOL. Good one :)

I had to pay off the guard to slip this post out!

There is more to it...and for me, this really hit the nail on the head as to how my day has been.

I don't take breaks. For lunch, I eat leftovers in the back room.

If I do take a short break (5-10 mins), I am being watched and just today was told to not do so before a certain time. I am to stay in the basement...no windows, just me.

Now get this, I am required to do work outside of this office and I am required to be in this office because someone might like it if I'm not. Uhm...clone me!

You know what...some people really need to Get A Life. I don't nosey around in others peoples business but they dayum sure do mine in the workplace!

Thanks for letting me vent. Your blog expresses me to the tee today.

Sue, Mine too!!! :)

Look up "prison mike the office" on youtube

The funny thing about that, is it is SO true!!!

What a MESSED UP world we live in!!

But that was funny!!

"@ PRISON you spend most of your life inside bars wanting to get out... @ WORK you spend most of your time wanting to get out and go inside bars"

This is my favorite.

Great Idea! There, Changed!
