Goldsboro man faces attempted murder charges after shooting on Olivia Lane and Audubon Avenue

GOLDSBORO, N.C. — A man from Goldsboro is facing several charges, including attempted murder, in connection to a shooting that took place Thursday morning.

Around 8:30 a.m., officers found a man and woman had been shot in the area of Olivia Lane and Audubon Avenue.

Both victims were initially taken to UNC Health Wayne for medical treatment before being moved to ECU Health in Greenville, where they remain in critical condition.

Police have arrested and charged James Edward Darden with four counts of attempted murder, three counts of discharging a firearm into an occupied vehicle, and three counts of discharging a firearm into an occupied vehicle resulting in serious injuries.

Darden has no bond and his first appearance is March 11.

Police said the shooting was an isolated incident and there is no threat to the public.

An investigation is underway.
