A Gastonia man was shot and killed Thursday night during an argument with his daughter's boyfriend, WCNC Charlotte reports.

GASTONIA, N.C. — A Gastonia man was shot and killed Thursday night during an argument with his daughter's boyfriend, WCNC Charlotte reports.
Around 9 p.m., police responded to a reported shooting at a home on South Weldon Street. When officers got to the house, they found 53-year-old Gerald Lee Humphries dead from a gunshot wound.
Officers determined Humphries got into a dispute with Darnell Shanquavius Fowler, identified his daughter's boyfriend.
Humphries was shot during the encounter, according to police, who said both men were armed during the fight. Police said Humphries and Fowler both lived at the home where the shooting happened.
Fowler was arrested at the scene.
