Kennel owner in Franklin County faces 15 new animal cruelty charges after another arrest.

FRANKLIN, N.C. — A Franklin County kennel owner has been arrested again Friday and is facing 15 new animal cruelty charges.

This comes after Ann-Marie Green was previously charged with one count of the same offense.

The charges come from allegations that Green mistreated animals at her Youngsville facility.

The animals are currently in the care of animal services.

A local couple brought attention to what they say is a negligent animal boarding center in Franklin County after one of their dogs died in the kennel's care.

Jessica Jones and Brandon Look say their rescued black Rottweiler, Goober, died in December 2023 during his stay at Green Meadow Kennels.

Originally planning to board Goober at Green Meadow Kennels from Dec. 21, 2023, to Jan. 6, 2024, the couple received the news of Goober's death on Dec. 25.

Jones said she was notified by an emergency contact on Christmas Day that something was wrong. She said she never heard from Green or the kennel.

"My fear is that he was neglected," Jones said. "That there was something more going on than what was said. They claim they tried to reach us the day off on multiple occasions or made it seem like they had been trying to reach us."

Jones said she was never contacted directly by the kennel. Hundreds of miles away, the family tried to get answers from Green.

Authorities are holding Green without bond in Franklin County.
