Four-vehicle crash hospitalizes 3, causes miles of backups on I-95 overnight

Three people were taken to the hospital after a crash involving four vehicles and nine people that caused a backup spanning miles on I-95.

WADE, N.C. — Three people were taken to the hospital after a crash involving four vehicles and nine people that caused a backup spanning miles on I-95.

The crash happened in Cumberland County in the town of Wade, near the Newton Grove exit.

Emergency responders worked until the early hours of the morning to clear the backups.

Officials say the crash was caused when one vehicle spun and hit another vehicle head-on.

WRAL News is working to learn the extent of the injuries of those involved.
