A Fort Liberty soldier accused of sex crimes with a 13-year-old girl faces multiple charges, including rape.

A Fort Liberty soldier accused of sex crimes with a 13-year-old girl faces multiple charges, including rape.

On Wednesday, officers with the Asheboro Police Department searched a vehicle in a city park, where police said they found Eric Timothy Fitch, 27, and a 13-year-old girl.

Evidence in the vehicle indicated Fitch had engaged in sexual activity with the girl, according to police.

Fitch was charged with:

  • Statutory rape of a child under 15
  • Statutory sex offense with a child under 15 (2 counts)
  • Disclosing private images
  • Indecent liberties with a child (2 counts)
  • Contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile
  • Second-degree special exploitation of a minor

The 13-year-old was reunited with her mother and Fitch, a member of Fort Liberty, was jailed in Randolph County with no bond. The U.S. Army was notified of his arrest.
