No injuries were reported after a plane returned to Charlotte after reporting an issue upon departure Monday morning.

American Eagle Flight 5304, a subsidiary of American Airlines, departed Charlotte Douglas International Airport for Chattanooga Monday morning, but returned to Charlotte for a report of smoke in the cabin, according to a report from WCNC.

The airport confirmed the plane, identified as a Bombardier CRJ-900, safely landed and the alert was canceled. Passengers were bussed from the plane back to the terminal. The airline will provide passengers with a flight to Chattanooga on a different aircraft.

Medic responded, but said they didn't take anyone to the hospital.
