Prosecutors have charged Tipton with involuntary manslaughter.
According to court documents, Tipton and Adame had argued about a dog being released from a chain. It was not clear who owned the dog.
Law enforcement authorities said Tip held Adame's face down on the ground and struck her in the head with the pan.
In court Monday, Tipton asked Cumberland County District Court Judge Lou Olivera if her bond could be lower and if she could have a court-appointed attorney, according to the Fayetteville Observer.
The judge refused her request for a reduction in her $100,000 bond.
She remained Monday at the Cumberland County jail. She is expected to return to court on Dec. 23.
Prosecutors asked the judge to order Tipton to stay away from the victim's family if she is able to post the bond.
